Amazon sells this for $0.76 MORE than MSRP as listed on Sandisk’s site, but claims to be saving you $39.24. What’s up with that?
Sounds like a good product, and maybe still a good deal with free shipping, but don’t be fooled by the savings claim.

My old crappy 1gig mp3 finally gave up the ghost. After too much looking/researching, I picked up a cheapo at a local store for $25, and it had a lame interface and short battery life. Then I saw this one on sale at Amazon for the same price, and picked it up.
My gal owns this one and seems to like it ok.The interface is better, but the battery is a huge disappointment. I really wanted one that took rechargeable AAA batteries, like my old one, but those are almost completely phased out in favor of built-in proprietary batteries. Sure, it’s smaller and lighter… but not by much. Certainly not enough. I hate being in the middle of my work day, and the music/podcast just stops… and I can’t just swap out a battery, or even plug it in a wall for a while, BECAUSE IT ONLY CHARGES VIA USB, and I’m not giving these guys yet more money for a wall charger.
Bum.Mer.
I would buy a comparable mp3 player that took AAA batteries In A Heartbeat.
Also, I listen to a lot of podcasts, previously one right after another. My old mp3 player kept in the same folder, and played them sequentially. Sadly, this plays ONE podcast, then I have to stop what I’m doing, go back into the menu, select a different podcast, and do it again. There’s playlist options, but that’s more button pushing and organizing. Lame.

I have an older sansa m230 model mp3 player and bought this clip plus as an upgrade. I was not satisfied and returned the clip plus back to the store because songs that played perfectly fine on the older m230 player would not play at all on the newer sansa clip plus.
I wrote to sansa web forums and the sansa website and none of them gave me any help. All I could do was get my money back.

Very small and fairly easy to use. Great sound for the money……sounds better than the Shuffle. Very happy with this product. Highly recommend for first time users of mp3 devices.

Amazon seems to hide the fact that some personal media players support Ogg Vorbis and FLAC, as this product does. Maybe because they’re buying Linux from Microsoft (which doesn’t own it).
